In today’s economy many companies are forced to lay off employees in order to maintain profitability. As you can see, half are related to healthcare. Healthcare is experiencing rapid growth, due in large part to the aging of the baby-boom generation, which will require more medical care.Network systems and data communications analysts are projected to be the second fastest growing occupation in the economy. Demand for these workers will increase as organizations continue to upgrade their information technology capacity and incorporate the newest technologies.

Fifteen of the twenty occupations with the fastest decline are either production occupations or office and administrative support occupations, both of which are adversely affected by increasing plant and factory automation or the implementation of office technology, reducing the need for workers in those occupations. For example, the duties of administrative assistants involve a great deal of personal interaction that cannot be automated, whereas the duties of file clerks adding, locating, and removing business records can be automated or performed by other workers.

Hi, All!
ResponderExcluirJob change is the most common New Year resolution...after diet :-)
Since I have just changed position at Google, guess what is mine?!?!
I liked the article so much and I think it mirrors our life.
Google is all about machines. The more automated, the better.
Fortunately, a system can not do customer relationship as well as humans do - that´s why I´m here.
Btw, we have many opened positions at Google. If interested, take a look at google.com/jobs and send me your résumé in English.
Ah! To improve English skills is one of the top New Year resolutions. I hope we can reach this one.
Cheers,
Fernanda
When a person wants to change his career, the first thing to do is a market research. Some few points, among others of high importance, must be considered as for example:
ResponderExcluir- Is the chosen area in growth or decline?
- Am I prepared enough to take this risk?
- Is this the right moment to change?
This person have to analyse what is motivating this career change. If it is only a matter of wage, demotivation, or stability.
To guarantee career success, this person should get opinions, increase abilities and skills and mainly get a real good plan.
To be focused and passionate is a good beginning for this new challenge.
See you, Lígia
The list of the best and worst occupations is very interesting, but it´s important to keep in mind that it just shows that the health care and information technology will demand a lot of professionals and probably can offer higher probability of career success. New HR researches have shown that the new generation of students and professionals have driven their efforts to “fashionable and highly demanded” occupations, looking for a quick career growth and higher positions in big companies but, on other hand, they are very concerned about their life quality. We know that, these targets are, most of times, incompatible. So I think that we have to find how our background, knowledge and experience can be valuable in the markets that are becoming more successful, but managing our careers considering our vocational skills and trying to find what kind of job makes you really happy, not concerning about “fashionable careers”.
ResponderExcluirHello, guys. How are you?
ResponderExcluirSo, I agree with Mário. I don't believe that a person who likes fashion, for example, can be happy working in technology just because it is one of the occupations with the highest growth. And I also believe that this professions can change the next years. Two or three years ago, Veja Magazine published an article about real estate agents, which said that was the greatest job at that time. Now, where are these professionals? The best profession depends on the political, financial and life moment, and on what you like. This ranking is just commercial. Probably, some university ordered the news.
What do you think about this?
Kisses and have a good Carnival.
Enjoy it for me! LOL, because I will be working!
