  1. Hello! My name is Alfredo, I am a lawyer, and this is my first time here.

In relation to the Republican Primaries, there are currently two main candidates in the run: Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney. The first one is more conservative and the latter, even being a typical Republican, is more liberal regarding personal beliefs and economic aspects.

Considering conservatives tend to be more intolerant, I do not think that a religious guy (evangelical) like Santorum should win the election. Due to the fact that America is known as a free country, it is dangerous that a narrow-minded person assumes a presidential position. For example, he has stated that abortion should be prohibited.

On the other hand, Mitt Romney seems to be the best option to compete with President Obama, whose populatiry rate has been dropping. In turn, Mitt Romney is the CEO of his own company and his priority is the American middle class. Therefore, he proposes strong economic grounds be created so workers by themselves can support their families without government help.

Does anyone share the same idea?

  2. Hi,,my name is Tarsila,I am a product manager, and today I am starting to connect with the blog´s world.

I was thinking about what Alfredo said, and, in my opinion, the candidates are spending so much time talking about their profile, their experience and the same topics that they always talk about(abortion, be a republican or democrat). What is really important they don´t care a lot: A really strong proposal to give the opportunity to USA be an example of successful country in the future.

I would like to add to Alfredo´s speech something that I consider very important in a presidential campaign: Education. Romney´s proposal is superficial, when he mentions that what is important is to learn english and math. We are talking about a new generation that we really don´t know how to educate, it means, it is not so simple. I believe that Obama´s speech is more up to date with reality, when he mentions at TechBoston School speech that he doesn´t have all the answers but, however, state, parents and society need to work together to support the educational system to be effective.

Therefore, we have to consider that USA is in the 9th education position in the world in contrast to 1st position years ago. Moreover, students are dropping out of school before going to college.

How can USA still be the 1st, facing this bad educational moment?

What do you think is the most important issues to choose the next American president?

  3. Hi, guys.

I'm Luis and an electrical engineer.

I agree with Tarsila, because I think Education is not only learning Math and English, it's much to develop abilities and relationships to prepare for life.

I also agree with Alfredo, when he says Santorum is very radical. Besides that, this behavior seems childish and superficial.I feel in his speech an inexperienced guy.

I don't know Mit Romney deeply, but it's a moderate Republican and his speech is more centered on reality, as I could see in the debate.

Moreover, I don't think Santorum should mix religion and politics, rather he should focus on real proposals. If he doesn't do it, he takes the risk to be an evasive guys and, therefore, people will not listen to him anymore.

I don't know who will win, however, I support Romney. What about you: who do you think is better for America?
